Look Me In The Eye And Tell Me A Lie

Description

Does anyone else have one of those friends who will lie to you about anything and everything?

It's hard to trust people like that. How do you what what the truth is? How do know every word coming out of their mouth isn't going to be another lie?

I have one of those friends. I guess I shouldn't really say friend, it's more like a one sided friendship. I just don't know how to tell someone that I haven't learned to forgive and forget.

I always knew this person lied to me, but we had a really big fall out when I logged into an internet account to find out that there was a post from my account that I didn't post. This of course comes down to the underlying trust issues. Once you've lied one too many times it's hard to believe someone. I confronted this person about hacking my account and she got very defensive, denied everything and told people I was the one lying. After a very long time of ignoring her, she messaged me on facebook (from a different account after I blocked and deleted her) and told me I was only hurting myself. That's when I left the politeness at the door and let the words fly. I told her if she ever wanted to be friends again she had to confess to me in person ( a long with a lot of other things.) She messaged back and apologized. Admitted that she had hacked my account and lied about it and that she would talk to me about it in person. There was something else in that message that I should have never believed. She told me from then on she would always tell the truth. Now I can pick out every story that isn't true. She lies about everything she does with the horses. I don't know is she thinks I'm a complete idiot, because I've know her horse longer than she has, I know he doesn't barrel race, I know he has never been taught to properly neck rein. I know she can't barrel race, and I know she doesn't know how to properly neck rein. She told me that she ONLY knew how to neck rein, which is a damn lie because she went to the same dressage stable that I went to, where it is only direct reining. She also tells people that she can train horses, meanwhile she has completely untrained her schoolmaster horse.

Today she told that she was going to be teaching lessons at her barn. On what? She only has one horse that has ever taught school lessons, but he's developed arthritis in both of his hind legs, and she never puts boots on him to aid it. Or maybe on an OTSB who only walks and track trots. Maybe she would be teaching children on her unbroke (claimed to be saddle broke, but proven otherwise) Clydesdale. Then that leaves a tiny little pony who is so barn and herd sour he will do anything to throw a rider. Then she asked me if I wanted to help "since I knew more than her." Um, no thanks. I don't really want to take part in your LAWSUIT! Even if I do know more, which I probably do since I'm committed to learning one on one with the horse instead of slapping a saddle on him and then going, I am no where near being able to teach people to ride. So if I'm not, she's not!

She always asks if she can come riding, because she wants to go trail riding (on my horses who have only been ridden out a handful of times.) I told her I didn't feel confident in her riding ability with any of my horses to do that just yet. Then she said "Well, if you can do, I can do it.." No, you really can't. As much of a horse whisperer as you think you are, you've only learned to ride dead broke horses, not green, high strung horses.

This is usually the kind of thing I would write in my journal, but I guess I'm just in the mood for an angry rant.
